The Opportunity

We are partnering with aleading trade association in the financial services sector to recruit an experienced interim Head of Public Affairs to lead their political and parliamentary engagement at a pivotal time for the financial services sector.This is a 6 month fixed term contract, where you will oversee a high-performing team, manage engagement with parliamentarians, and work across the organisation and with senior industry leaders to deliver meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and support the public affairs team to foster an inclusive, collaborative culture
• Develop and deliver the organisation’s advocacy strategy and political engagement plans
• Lead engagement with parliament, government and influential stakeholders
• Shape policy positions in collaboration with internal policy teams
• Provide strategic political insight, advice and briefings to senior colleagues
• Manage senior engagement programmes with member firms
• Represent the organisation at political and policy events, including conferences

Skills and ExperienceRequired

• Strong experience in public affairs, ideally within the financial services sector
• Experience in managing a team
• Excellent understanding of parliamentary and government processes
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships with political stakeholders
• Experience designing and delivering successful advocacy strategies
