We have partnered with a high-profile organisation in the FMCG sector, to recruit a Senior External Communications Manager to their communications team. The successful candidate will lead on all corporate communications including reputation and crisis communications, financial PR and mergers and acquisitions. This role also leads a busy press office and oversees the corporate communications strategy.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage quarterly financial results, working closely with the Director of Communications and Investor Relations Director and drafting all communications
- Develop the media plan and strategy to communicate the company’s investment and ESG strategies
- Advise members of the senior leadership team on the media and communications plan
- Manage the business’ busy press office and act as the first point of call for media enquiries
- Support senior leaders to develop and manage proactive and reactive media opportunities, drafting written content and briefing documents, and providing direction and counsel as appropriate
- Engagement with trade and national media, developing and maintaining key relationships
- Play a key role in drafting all communication to multiple external stakeholders around M&A transactions.
Key Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience in corporate communications working with FTSE-listed organisations, gained either in-house or in agency
- Experience of managing quarterly reporting for a listed business
- Experience of managing a busy press office
- Excellent writer, well-versed in translating content to suit a range of audiences
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders
- A background in the food or manufacturing sector is desirable.
