The opportunity:
The Marine Stewardship Council is looking for an exceptional and committed new Senior PR and Corporate Communications Manager to build profile and support for the MSC through both PR and Corporate Communications outputs. As part of MSC’s Global team, the post holder will design and execute PR campaigns for key moments, working with colleagues around the world to secure great media coverage. They will also lead on the management of Corporate Communications projects, such as the Annual Report, and support the organisation’s reputation management. This is a permanent and paid full-time role.
Main responsibilities:
- Supporting the delivery of proactive PR activity
- Developing and executing media and PR tactics for key themes, identifying and prioritising audiences, key messages, opportunities/moments, media channels, and activities in line with the overarching Marketing and Communications Group strategy
- Proactive media relations work including the writing and distribution of relevant materials, building and managing relationships with journalists, and reporting on campaigns
- Managing key initiatives and identifying and supporting opportunities for major industry and policy fora
- Contributing to the wider development and execution of Marketing Communications activity
- Previous experience in a similar role across PR and corporate communications
- Previous experience managing multi-stakeholder projects such as Annual Reports, policy panels etc.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent project management skills and an ability to matrix-manage
- Ideally, previous experience working within the third sector or for a non-governmental organisation (NGO)
- Ideally, experience in environmental or conservation communications, particularly for an international organisation
- Demonstrable knowledge of, and interest in, global sustainability issues
- Competitive salary
- 25 days’ annual leave, in addition to an office closure from Christmas Eve to New Year’s Day
- Hybrid working (50%)
- Generous pension scheme - Tier 1 (3% contribution from employer & 5% employee) from day 1. On successful completion of probation, Tier 2 (9% employer & 6% employee); choice of salary sacrifice
