The opportunity
The organisation is looking for a Media & Communications Manager to play a key role in delivering its corporate communications strategy. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs, you will be responsible for developing and managing media and communications projects that promote the organisation’s purpose and protect its reputation. This is an opportunity to work with senior leaders and external partners in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, shaping how the organisation is understood and talked about externally.
Main responsibilities
- Develop and deliver media and communications plans that showcase the organisation’s impact and success.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with national, regional and specialist media.
- Manage and advise on issues of reputational importance, preparing messaging and responses as needed.
- Act as a strategic advisor to internal teams, supporting the delivery of effective external communications.
- Manage agencies and collaborate with marketing and corporate teams to ensure consistent messaging.
Key skills and experience
- Significant experience in communications or media relations, with strong proactive and reactive media skills.
- Demonstrable experience delivering successful external communications campaigns.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and a collaborative working style.
