About the Role

Ellwood Atfield is partnered with Global Counsel to appoint a Senior Associate, Trade& Industrial Policy. This role will work with Global Counsel's international clients, including leading companies in life sciences, manufacturing, consumer goods, and services.

The position will involve tracking and analysing trade and policy developments, with a focus on compliance frameworks affecting goods and services. The successful candidate will provide clients with strategic guidance on trade-related policies and offers the opportunity to develop expertise at the intersection of business, politics, and international trade rules.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse policies affecting cross-border trade and investment, advising clients on implications for supply chains and regulatory risks.
  • Lead client projects, presenting clear, data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Support policy engagement strategies for clients and identify potential new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior policymakers and industry stakeholders.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of experience in trade and industrial policy, ideally within government, EU institutions, think tanks, or consultancies.
  • Strong communication skills, with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of EU/UK trade policies, with interest in additional markets like the US or China, is a plus.
