Ellwood Atfield is delighted to have partnered with the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) to recruit for a Content and Communications Officer on a full-time, permanent basis. This role pays a salary of £32,000 to £34,000, and is located in London three days a week, with two days a week working from home.
ISI is an independent inspectorate, appointed by the Department for Education to inspect association independent schools in England. They are also approved to inspect British schools overseas and private further education colleges and language schools.
The Content and Communications Officer will play a crucial role in content creation and management to ensure ISI is seen as a trusted leader in the assurance of education. You should be an excellent writer and communicator with strong digital and administrative skills, using your knowledge, skills, and experience to help the ISI to engage with a range of audiences so their organisational goals are delivered. This is a position will report into the Head of External Affairs.
Key responsibilities
· Create high quality digital communications to schools, inspectors, safeguarding partners, parents and other stakeholders so that content is engaging, accurate and aligned with the ISI brand.
· Collaborate with colleagues to update, refine and optimise existing content to support the delivery of organisational goals and improve search engine optimisation (SEO).
· Manage email templates and communications, including planning, coordinating, producing, and disseminating updates to different groups through MailChimp and Office 365.
· Ensure the ISI website and social media platforms are up-to-date and accessible so that they provide a positive experience for different audiences.
· Support the Chief Inspector-CEO and other senior leaders in the formatting and layout of presentations so that external speaking engagements and events have impact and support ISI strategic objectives.
· Ensure the consistent use of ISI’s brand guidelines across the organisation. You will also support with the development of ISI’s template and asset bank.
· Support with the production of ISI’s corporate publications, including the annual report. You will be the main point of contact for ISI’s external design agencies and freelancers.
· Support with the co-ordination and administration of ISI’s programme of owned stakeholder events, including webinars and roundtables.
· Support with the day-to-day running of ISI’s listening and monitoring systems.
· Ensure that requests from across the organisation for communications and marketing support are delivered to a high standard against agreed deadlines.
· Stay informed about industry developments, technology and best practice
Person specification
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills
· Experience in digital content creation, including graphics
· Experience in creating different types of high-quality communications content for a range of audiences.
· Experience of using a content management system.
· Excellent planning and organisational skills and proven ability to stay calm under pressure whilst handling complex information and working across multiple projects.
· Experience of using data and analytics to evaluate the impact of communications activities
· Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly additional functions like Forms, Lists, Visio and SharePoint.
· Ideally, previous experience using MailChimp
· Ideally, previous experience working on a variety of campaigns
· DBS clearance and other vetting checks.
